This week-long Helping Hands service trip offers you the chance to work alongside students who receive support through the Guatemala Literacy Program (GLP). Spend your mornings painting and working on service projects at a primary school and spend your afternoons experiencing the local culture.

Whether you are a solo traveler or in a group, all helping hands are welcome! The Helping Hands Tour is a fun and unique opportunity for friends and families to volunteer together, reinforcing the value of “Service Above Self” through an intentional balance of hard work and play throughout the week.

The GLP makes all arrangements for meals, lodging, security, and transportation.

“I have been to Latin America 66 times with Rotary and other humanitarian projects. The Guatemala Literacy Project is absolutely one of the best, most successful, and needed projects in Rotary. My wife has traveled with me a number of times. For our grandson, it was a total eye-opener. Not only did it help him understand the world, but it gave us a much closer feeling about who he is and what he can do. We were very proud of him and totally felt like it was worthwhile and accomplished a closeness that we were looking for as well as help him understand the world.”

Bruce Powell, Rotary Club of Centerville-Farmington, UT & District 5420 Foundation Committee Chair
