This past February, Rotary International President Jennifer Jones, invited Grammy award-winning Guatemalan singer-songwriter, Gaby Moreno, to join Jennifer’s Imagine Impact Tour across Guatemala… visiting us!
On her Imagine Impact Tour, President Jones highlighted the GLP’s mission to break the cycle of poverty in Guatemala through education. And with her, she brought special guests, including Guatemalan singer-songwriter, Gaby Moreno, and international journalist and filmmaker, Zara Janjua. Together, they met many amazing students and teachers being directly impacted by the GLPs educational programs and were deeply moved.
Since this meaningful experience, Gaby and friends of Rotary have helped us fundraise over $20K through the #RaisetheRoof campaign with us!
This joint effort will help the Rise Youth Development Program to impact even more students in need. Another great example of the power of Rotary connecting people with this “service about self” project.
Not only was Jennifer Jones choosing to visit the GLP in-person such an honor, but the ripple effect that her RI presidency and support of the GLP mission is one for which we will be forever grateful.
